A wide selection of powders are included covering Alliant, Accurate, Hodgdon, Ramshot, VihtaVuori, and Winchester. Additionally, most popular bullet brands are also used including Barnes, Hornady, Nosler, Sierra, Speer, and Swift. As always, full coverage is also given to Lyman cast bullets throughout the handbook. This is the one handbook that should find a home on all reloading benches. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. When I purchased my equipment, I just looked online for hours finding out what was a must to have and not. This book would have been very good to have. The first page is the index for the calibers and the page number. When you go to your page needed, their is a section that has the specifications such as length, primer, and bullets. Then they have it positioned based on the different grain bullets that contain the specific specifications for each type. This contains the type of gun power, velocity, grains needed, and pressure. Over all, this is the book to get. I also posted a photo for all the calibers they reload.Excellent as is typical for the Lyman reloading manuals. Clear, understandable instructions for the novice or experienced reloader.http://www.diamant-x.sk/UserFiles/deaf-blind-manual-alphabet.xml

If you are just starting out in reloading, I would recommend this as a first manual. Excellent selection of loads. This is one manual that should be in every reloaders library. An update is probably a year or 2 away, so this is the current version. I have been loading for nearly 40 years and have had a Lyman manual in my library for most of them, and I consult them regularly. You should have at least 2 current loading manuals available as well as keeping your older manuals as reference materials.Illustrations are clear and easy to read. I'm a relatively new reloader, and this had gobs of information to help get me started. Cons: It doesn't have information on the 300 AAC Blackout. That particular round has been out for several years now, and I would expect a giant in the industry, such as Lyman, to create a 50th edition by this time. But, since they haven't, I had to buy another book (also by Lyman) to get the 300 BLK information I was looking for. Bottom Line: Yes, I would buy it again. It has 99 of the information you need. And if you don't shoot 300 BLK, it probably has 100.To a beginning reloader as well as a seasoned one they explain pressures, components tools. Then they have the data section which lists MOST popular calibers, and a wide variety of bullets. They show a brand of case, a brand of primer, and what powders were used. There are starting loads, and maximum loads listed. It is strongly cautioned to drop back on the charge if any component is switched--example: you went to CCI primers from Winchester primers, or Remington cases from Winchester cases. My only complaint is they drop some of the older calibers that are not currently manufactured by the big companies. There is also a section to write down you personal data, and reference sections regarding powder speeds, types and general usages. Also other info as shell holder cross references and such.http://www.downdistrictdtc.co.uk/filestore/deaf-blind-communicator-manual.xml Many say this is a must have manual, I think it definitely deserves a spot on your book shelf, but would say you should have other references also(many powder company manuals are free downloads from Hodgdon, Alliant IMR-etc). If I had to have only one, this would be it.Reloading explanations seem to be clear and accurate. The guide doesn't beholden to any manufacturer like so many others. THE BAD: Now I know why friends who reload all have 3-5 reloading books, and a hand written notebook. This books is from May 2008. 8 years old. Be aware there is a 50th edition on the Lyman Website, but nowhere to be found on Amazon at the moment. No information on the new stuff like.458 SOCOM No information on any big bore rifle (Over.458) except 50-70 govt. No info on anything remotely exotic, only info on common rounds. No powder equivalence chart, like I've seen in much lessor reloading books. All in all good. But I wish It just covered everything I needed. Now i need to go copy several pages from other sources into my personal note book in order to meet my reloading needs. The load tables, in my opinion, could certainly have some additional references to other powders and bullets. For the 6 or 7 loads I was mainly interested in, there were limited powders and bullets listed. I can find as much, or more, pertinent information for those loads on the web, from experienced reloaders. That being the situation, I knocked off a star in my rating. I anticipated a better, more comprehensive manual than what I got. For as many printings as this 49th edition has had, you'd think they would have revised it by now to include more up to date bullet and powder choices and information. In my opinion, they need to revise it to a 50th edition and add more new information to include those newly available powder and bullet products. You'll most likely need more than this one manual, and some web information, to get what you need for your selected ammo reloading.http://eco-region31.ru/boss-dr-3-manual-pdf As usual, orders from amazon are handled professionally and arrive when scheduled. You can't go wrong ordering Amazon supplied products. This is the first thing you need when you think you want to reload. In a few words like i said If you want to reload. Dusty Dino 5.0 out of 5 stars If you're reading this review, please consider purchasing the newest edition for the latest data. I'll assume that this review will also hold true for the latest edition at this point in time. Let's talk about what matters to most people in this book, the data. The Lyman manual lists the specific projectiles used for each cartridge, including the BC (ballistic coefficient) and SD (sectional density) for those projectiles. Also provided is the chamber(s), barrel twist rate(s), barrel length(s), and firearm platform(s) that the projectiles are fired from. Each set of data for a specific bullet contains what Lyman found to be the most accurate loading, which is in bold print. There is even some data for lead projectiles included at the end of the data for each caliber. One issue I have with the data is that Lyman often switches from PSI to CUP when listing pressures. Sometimes, no pressure information is given at all. In a perfect world we would have a consistent unit from a consistent method of measuring used for all charges listed.https://cristianpack.com/images/8086-microprocessor-lab-manual-for-cse.pdf But it's hard to complain too much about this because several other commonly used manuals do not contain any pressure data at all. There is a bit of general information about reloading at the start of the manual. A good read if you're new to reloading. The pictures are in black and white. You'll have to purchase the 50th Ed.Also, one last thing I wanted to note is that many of the max charges in this manual are greater than the max charges listed in my other manuals. As always, work up your charges for each firearm. For this product, I think it fits well into both of my categories. Not only is it very useful, and it saved me a lot of pain by not having it, but is also been something that I found many other people have had an interest in. Let me start by addressing the content of the book itself. A reloading handbook is only good when the information is up-to-date, clearly presented, and orderly printed. The Lyman book meets all of those standards. I reload a number of rounds, using various bullets and powder combinations, so having a well-written and information filled book is just another serious component in my reloading set up. I recommend the Lyman text to anyone who is a reloader Thank you for reading and please do not hesitate to contact me through Amazon should you have additional comments or questions. The coverage is basic, although thorough. It does not get very technical, which is perfect for the beginner. This, along with being well organized and simply and clearly written make it very easy to read and understand. I think a separate chapter about equipment and accessories would be welcomed by beginners and not-so beginners alike. For example, a presentation of various types of presses, scales, powder measures, etc. This would also give Lyman a chance to promoted its equipment. The load data is selective, so there is not a large quantity of it, like in the Lee manual, for example. But the Lee manual is probably overkill. So the lesser quantity in the Lyman manual is not necessarily a bad thing.Sure, it gives you the basics of how to reload (enough to get you started), and some more detailed information, but it is not a thorough book from which you will learn the ins and outs of reloading for accuracy. You will find a lot better information about the process and techniques on YouTube and elsewhere on the internet (but be careful who you learn from). For the actual load data, I have found much more information on the internet from bullet manufacturers and powder manufacturers. Overall it is a decent book with decent info and some interesting articles. This Lyman book is also a hardcover version. There is another version in paperback, but I wanted a hardcover. Came sealed in shrink wrap. Other loaders I asked about this book say this book has better content information than others that tend to promote their line of products in their books. This book is large format - larger than the Hornady book I have, well constructed and well worth the price I paid.Layman should offer this in a data page format. Specify the calibration and then pay for that. Instead I have a huge book that I only need a couple of things from. Learn how you can enable Javascript. Is there more load data for the older loads, or is it the same data as the older revision? You'd have nothing left for powder. snicker. Thanks everyone.I didn't see any major changes on the cartridges I load. Also, it's a personal grievance, but I like H4350, I've found it to be excellent in many cartridges from.243 to.30-06. There are no H4350 loads anywhere in the 50th edition. Not even in the 6.5 Creedmoor section, a dominant pairing to say the least. I just can't figure out how they could ignore such a useful and popular rifle powder. You might find it useful to upgrade depending on what you load, but if I had it to do over I'd probably stick with 49.Print it and stick it in your 49th.Print it and stick it in your 49th. Loading data for lots of new cartridges has been included in the 50th edition. New bullets for existing cartridges has also been included in the new book. There is a LOT of new data in this book and lots of updated data for existing cartridges. Go to your local bookstore and read the Forward to get an idea of all the new stuff in this edition. I don't skimp on reloading manuals and I think this one is the best-of-the-best. It's well worth the price.Since adding a 5.56x45 caliber rifle I see I'll need recipes for this caliber. My loading bench has the caliber specific books but I rarely change powder or primers. I just change bullets according to availability.I'm disappointed they didn't add the Enduron powders but I guess they were released too close to publication time. Not a waste of money just not much new info as I would have hoped for.Added some bullets as well. Can't remember if there was WIN Autocomp data in 49 but there is in 50. No CFE-Pistol data, there is CFE 223 powder data, and Oh Color pictures of bullets and loaded ammo. The pairings of bullet to powder seem extremely specific, but I won't question the data. The only thing I really had a problem with is that the bolded entries in the reloading table are considered the most accurate. I had to re-read one of the first chapters to figure that out.
